Where the Research Happens!

The Royal Adelaide Research Fund are always delighted to meet donors in person and be able to show them where some of the research they support takes place!

On Thursday February 2nd 2017, we proudly toured 20 of our special donors through the Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories located within the Hanson Institute Building at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Attending donors were given an exclusive tour through the laboratory and a presentation by Dr Theresa Hickey who is supported by you through a RAH Research Fund Career Development Fellowship.

You may have read about Dr Hickey’s research in a previous newsletter. She is leading research that is a potential game changer for breast cancer, working with a new drug currently in several clinical trials. This work not only has the potential to lead to a new treatment for breast cancer patients, it could also be eventually used to prevent this heartbreaking disease.

We’re delighted to continue to offer more donor tours throughout the year and are blown away by the interest from our community. If you’re interested in being on our waiting list for current donor tours, or would like to be contacted about the next event, please contact Donor Relations Specialist Nardia Frank on (08) 8222 5281 or email contactus@rahresearchfund.com.au.
